I have been coaching golf since 1991, and was elected as a Class “A” PGA Golf Professional in 1998.

My experience in the golf industry goes back to my first job, at the age of eleven, washing golf carts, and picking up driving range balls at Ridgemark G & CC. I have been in my current position at Santa Teresa Golf Club since August of 2000.

I have dedicated my focus in golf to promoting and building junior golf in Northern California, in the South Bay, and at Santa Teresa GC.

The coaching philosophy that most influences my ability to successfully coach is, that when learning and enjoyment of the game are offered to a student as the first possibility, performance ultimately follows.  I believe in strong fundamentals, with a focus on the development of awareness of athletic balance and power in the full swing. Alignment, target awareness, short game skill building, putting skill growth and intentional practice are key elements in all of my lesson programs.

I believe that Club Fitting is the key to being able to grow and improve as a golfer. Without correctly fitted equipment, most golfers are stuck in a cycle of compensating for their equipment and compromising their ability to make a powerful and athletic swing motion.

Fitting juniors is even more important as strength level and coordination in a growing child is already a challenge.

I have been certified as a Henry-Griffits and Titleist Club Fitter, and have been trained with the Taylor Made, and Ping fitting carts. I use US Kids clubs to fit all of my beginning junior students.
